Sara Evans has only had the one goal in her life that she has always had that she would like to write and perform country music. Evans spoke to John Meroney, of American Enterprise: "God placed me in this place for me to perform." "It is what I enjoy doing most of all and I'm going to be successful." Evans would also like to be successful in reviving the traditional style of country music that was popularized by legends such as Patsy Cline and Hank Snow. Also, she was influenced from George Jones, Tammy Wynette as well as Patty Loveless. Evans' first success came in the late 1990s as many aspiring country singers turned towards popular music. Her 1997 debut, True Lies, was one of the best examples. True Lies, though it received positive reviews and was nominated by the Academy of Country Music for 1998's top new female artist, failed to make an impact. In her next album No Place That Far in 1999, No Place That Far, Evans acknowledged producers who persuaded the artist to update her repertoire, which eventually earned her the recognition she had longed for from the time she was a child. Sara Evans was a born in Columbia Missouri on the 5th of February in 1971. The first years she spent there alongside her six siblings and five brothers.
